Multiple POVs; set in the 70’s, so tons of racist, sexist, and homophobic comments which could be tough to read but it was clear that it was simply relevant to and necessary for the setting; definitely very vulgar; so many awful characters but also some strong FMCs; perfect pacing and so well-written; action-packed, tension-filled, and addictive

Wow, another great read from Karin Slaughter. The 1970's was a fantastic setting for this gritty cop novel. The prevailing attitudes and culture of the time were very integral to the story. I loved the well-developed characters and fast-paced storytelling.

COPTOWN is a plot forward thriller novel.  It's about cops, but it's not copaganda.  The characters in this book are awful.  I suppose it's hard to expect more from them in 1974.  The book is loaded with racism and sexism.  It's full of violence and hate crimes.

The pacing was great and pulled me through the story.  I burned through it.

I liked it, but it had some real tough moments.

I listened to this book in 3 days I absolutely could not turn it off and finished it at 1:00 this morning! So many twists and turns! I was completely thrown by who "The Shooter" was at the end, even though it gave some of the story in his point of view. I loved listening to the different point of views and absolutely loved the setting of the story. It was so interesting to listen to a story set in the 70's in the view of a woman police officer. This is the second Karin Slaughter book I have read and I have put all of her books on my TBR list!

I struggled with this book.
