🇳🇱 Het was een leuk boek die prima weg te lezen is. Alleen had ik meer van Karin Slaughter verwacht. Het boek veraste me eigenlijk niet echt, behalve het plot op het einde. Die had ik niet aan zien komen. Voor de rest vond ik het een prima boek, behalve dan dat ik meer spanning en twists had verwacht.
🇬🇧: it was good book, and I have tead it pretty quickly. But I had higher hopes for a Karin Slaughter book.. the books itself didn't really suprise me, except for the end. But it is a great book, except for the fact that was honing for a bit more trilling content.

This book was not as attention-grabbing as most Karin Slaughter novels. It took me a few chapters to get into this one. I hated almost all of the male characters, almost none of them had any redeeming qualities and if they did, it was not shown. The women were what made this book interesting but at times, they also got a little on my nerves. Overall, I did enjoy the story but I did not have a favorite character.

I really enjoyed reading this book although it was a bit slow-paced until reaching the half of the book. The racism that wrapped Atlanta in the 70's against not only women (who are the two protagonists and struggle to do their jobs) but also against people who were not "normal" is everywhere and really scaled up the premise. The development of the characters as the story takes place is also good.
