I always love Karin Slaughters stand alone books. I couldn't out this one down and she did a great job keeping the bad guy a mystery. I thought there would be more "Easter eggs" of characters from her series but I'm glad there weren't. I wanted to know more about what happened and wouldn't have minded a 20 year jump epilogue but that wasn't the story.

Not a bad read, but way too long-winded. I feel like this story could have been told in half the pages, which would have made it much more pulse-pounding. I also got really tired of hearing women called "slits". I GET IT, they were sexist in the seventies. Enough already. That's something else that would have been much improved if the book were half the length.
