This didn’t do it for me for some reason as the other two did. Maybe it’s because of the introduction of new characters/world but I felt like it wasn’t that great

OMG.
At first I was a little hesitant to accept (and was completely against) a major plot point taking place in the first few chapters of the novel, as it took the series in a new direction from the previous books, straying away from a supernatural high school type story I had come to love and really explore the fantastical world Noni has created. Once I came to terms with this I was amazed and delighted with what I found because, it made me more invested in this series than I already was because of how much the world/story could expand from here.

Contrary to this, I do feel as though this book suffered from middle-book-itis :( But I have hope for the future!

Oh. My. Goodness. These books just keep getting better! And its not just the dizzying adventures or the enchanting landscape or the delightful characters, its the depth of her characters and their relationships that makes Noni's book so great. And the wickedly funny sarcasm too.

Think you know everything there is to know about Aven, Roka, Kiya, and Zain? Woah boy, think again! AND there are dragons.

Alex goes on an adventure she never could have dreamed, one in which she travels to the past before Aven turned evil. See Roka and Aven's family before they were rent in two. Discover a land of dragons, I mean draekora, up above the clouds. See Aven's motivations through completely different eyes. Once I started reading, I could not stop. The story and character growth did not let me go.

Wow, brilliantly done. Miss Noni, just go ahead drop the mic because you killed it with book 3!

This is the third book in the Medoran Chronicles. Alex is taken over Kaldoras break to Meya where she will learn to enhance and control her Meyarin powers. Meanwhile, she is swept into the past and to Meya thousands of years before her time and, while continuing her training, she learns of her present day enemies' pasts and discovers the magical world of Draekora.

Again, I loved this book so much. The plot was definitely a lot slower, however this was completely necessary to educate us readers of the events occurring, especially in a novel where the time period varies. I really enjoyed seeing how past events affected the future and the impact Alex had on the lives of all those she cared about.

I also liked the past version of Aven, but I cannot elaborate as I do not want to spoil him for everyone. My favourite characters in this book were definitely Roka and Niyx and Aven as well. It was just a very interesting angle to see those particular characters from.

Additionally, Noni was able to maintain beautiful descriptions through Alex's point of view and continue to capture me into this marvellous world. I am dying to see what happens next.

I rate this book 5/5 because I just like the writing style and the way elements of the past and present link together. I feel like this book series was made for me and I just love everything about it and highly recommend this series.

Man this book hits you in the feels. Despite not including the 'main cast' of characters I think I can safely say that this is my favourite book in the series! Niyx and Xira are definitely some of my favourites in this series and I forgot how much I fell in love with them in this book.
As much as it absolutely sucks I very much appreciate the chance to see Aven before he hates humans, it makes him feel more real. And honestly if it weren't for the fact that it r really doesn't work, Aven and Alex have some cute moments together.
