so i dont think this book is bad, but it just, i expected more of this.
okay, the guy is like so madly in love with her and all, and it’s all rly cute. and im glad that they both have a fked mental health and insecurities. but this book was like, meh.

the writing was good. definitely. but some words were just unnecessary. like idc what a table looks like, yk? and sometimes there was no proper description at all so it was hard to imagine things.

the girl is lowkey such a y/n, with her ‘petite frame’ and her little weight (she’s barely 5ft). that threw me off a bit. and then the guy is like giant, massive. tbh i dont fk with those proportions, gives me pick me vibes.

i do love their characters though; the girl is a complete badass and the guy is like a “look at her in a wrong way and youre dead” type of guy. i know many (myself included) love that shit.

it’s not bad, it’s a great book. just wasn’t rly for me bcs it didnt rly captivate me in a way some other books do.

Interesting story with a character dealing with disabilities and it had an interesting  way to deal with ptsd in new relationships.

1st person, Dual POV
Standalone
Tropes/Plot details:
- MMC likes laying in FMC legs and getting his hair touched
- MMC buying expensive thing to FMC
- Height difference (FMC is 5ft)
- Age Gap (FMC is 24, MMC is 35)
- 3rd act breakup
- Pregnancy at the ending

Steam: All the "smutty" scenes lasted less than a page.
FMC even said once that their sex lasted one minute and it's pretty accurate. Lit every scene he pulled inside and both of them immediately came.

I read this bc of an insta post that said sth like:

"When he orders his man to sit down when she enters a room bc it made her nervous/bc of trauma"

It was a scam, it was mentioned only once and it lasted a paragraph.

My opinion:
I should know better than to believe recs from reels.

If not for the stupid 3rd act divorce I would even have said I liked this.

Overall: it was bad but I've read worse.

Also even with HEA their relationship probably wouldn't last long, by the end of the year they'll be divorced again lol

The best Bratva romance book I’ve ever read. I loved Nina and Roman. Despite the beginnings of their relationship being non conventional, I loved how natural their relationship felt. I loved how gentle and caring Roman was toward Nina really early on. I liked how Nina reassured him through his insecurities and how Roman worked to make her comfortable. Their dynamic reminded me of my favorite Turkish romance couple, Ferhat and Asli— an assassin + a doctor who end up in an arranged marriage and who learn to love each other despite their differences. I also really enjoyed the supporting characters— Maxim, who was so unintentionally funny and Varya, my queen. She reminded me of Mrs. Jones from the 50 shades series. I laughed so much while reading and it felt good to just enjoy their love story, even with the third act breakup which hurt. I really loved this couple and can’t wait to continue the series. Also the spice was great!

The speed of the main couple’s development didn’t read as realistic to me. While there are a number of time jumps, I wish the author had taken a little longer to show how and why these two actually like each other.

As for the premise… we never actually learn if the fake marriage accomplishes the goal that Roman wanted it to.
