Interesting story with a character dealing with disabilities and it had an interesting  way to deal with ptsd in new relationships.

Colour me surprised but I really enjoyed reading this book. It had the passion, the story, the character and everything that I could ask for. One of the best mafia romances I've read in a while (and I can now call myself picky).

Roman and Nina have me in a choke hold. I will drown in their perfectly imperfect romance for all eternity. Definitely one of the better dark mafia romance books I've read because the leads were incredibly likeable and entertaining. There was just enough darkness to Roman's character - he was exactly the persona I had hoped Dante would be in the Darkverse Series.

I can appreciate the disability rep as Roman shattered one knee and his frustrations & insecurities with adapting could be felt. And gratefully it's not a story where he is miraculously healed by the end.

Uch guys. Roman was head over heels. The marriage of convenience sizzled with the best yearning chemistry and there were many "My Wife" moments and his subtle way of making sure he doesn't trigger her PTSD following a toxic past relationship? Nina acknowledging his discreet changes? Challenging him and keeping him on his toes? They were made for each other.

The story itself otherwise doesn't hold much plot. At times it felt choppy and way too fast, and others it felt fillery. But it was enough to keep reading as I'm curious about the other characters - especially wanting to know Sergei's story.

The best Bratva romance book I’ve ever read. I loved Nina and Roman. Despite the beginnings of their relationship being non conventional, I loved how natural their relationship felt. I loved how gentle and caring Roman was toward Nina really early on. I liked how Nina reassured him through his insecurities and how Roman worked to make her comfortable. Their dynamic reminded me of my favorite Turkish romance couple, Ferhat and Asli— an assassin + a doctor who end up in an arranged marriage and who learn to love each other despite their differences. I also really enjoyed the supporting characters— Maxim, who was so unintentionally funny and Varya, my queen. She reminded me of Mrs. Jones from the 50 shades series. I laughed so much while reading and it felt good to just enjoy their love story, even with the third act breakup which hurt. I really loved this couple and can’t wait to continue the series. Also the spice was great!
