Clerk Jill Hartley is instructed to deliver important papers to a Professor Hartley at his home but on entering the derelict house she finds a body. Returning to the address with Superintendent Budd they find the situation normal. But events lead to finding the body and a piece of paper with seven lamps written on it. Budd investigates.
