I was a little nervous when I started the book because of the pact. I mean isn’t that every woman’s goal, not to date jerks or aholes. I will say the book was cute, fun and a light read. Exactly what I was looking for. Sophie was a bit of a push over, especially when it came to her family. She was kind hearted though and funny. Jason was perfect for her. He was constantly standing up for her to her overbearing siblings and telling her he had faith in her. I really liked his character. I was wondering how on earth the book was going to wrap up while he was still dating other girls but the author pulled through on that front and I absolutely adored the HEA. I’m looking forward to the next one.

“I brush my lips against his. He responds in an instant by wrapping his strong arms around me and pulling me close. And we kiss. And kiss. It’s breathtakingly perfect, the kind of kiss you can easily live your whole life without experiencing. The kind of kiss you can only ever have with someone you love with all your heart and soul.”

This is a very cute first book in the series! I'll be checking out the rest!
I absolutely adore reading books about women who are trying to find the love of their lives and are going on absolutely terrible dates. And let me tell you, Sophie goes on some pretty bad dates, even considering the vetting process she puts these men through.
Jason is the cutest love interest. I love books where roommates fall in love, and this book does not disappoint in that regard. I do wish there had been a few more awkward scenes between them, however. Sophie and Jason have such sweet banter, and I really do think that their dialogue is a highlight of this book.
This is a perfect book to devour in a single night during quarantine.

DNF...I got about 25% in and just wasn’t feeling this one. Didn’t connect to the characters and knew exactly what the outcome of the story would be.

“Love doesn’t come around a whole lot. If you find it, you’ve got to grab it while you can.”

Sophie McCarthy comes from a family where her other siblings have important jobs, laywers and business owner. Sophie, however, was just a barista at a coffee shop. Sophie also had bad luck in dating – her latest boyfriend dumped her at her bosses wedding, right after they said their vows. Sophie’s two girl friends also have the same luck with dating. So they make a pact for no more bad dates to weed out the bad ones. Sophie’s roommate, Jason Christie, a doctor in training, decides to join the pact so that he can help with weeding out the bad dates.

Now Sophie is trying to navagate what to do with her career and the dates. Her girls seem to be more willing to “pass” a guy so that Sophie may go on a date with him, but Jason seems to always find something wrong. Why is he acting strange?

I really enjoyed this book, it was a nice and easy read. I think the best part about this book was that it wasn’t solely focuse on the romance as is other books. I enjoyed reading about Sophie’s dilemna regarding her career, finding out what she enjoyed, and ultimately what worked out for her.

The author did a great job of having her characters jump off the page. I wanted to be friends with these girls! Who doesn’t love a good karaoke night.

This was a cute, overly predictable, PG rated, Hallmark movie-esque rom-com. If you're looking for something easy and quick to read, this would qualify. I didn't hate it...it definitely was a sweet story. But I felt like the characters were very one-dimensional and the dating pact was pretty ridiculous.

When her current boyfriend dumps her during her boss's wedding, Sophie McCarthy decides that she's not putting up with any more bad dates. Her roommate Jason joins with her two best friends to vet the guys asking Sophie out.
Friends to lovers is not a particularly new concept in contemporary romances, but the author does a nice job of making it fun. Jason and Sophie are a cute couple and the extra drama with Sophie's job working at a tea room added a lot to the story. Definitely want to see what happens with the other two friends now.

The only thing comedic is how laughably bad this is. Will not be reading more by this author.

We’re back at the cafe and it’s neighboring high tea place. This new series has Sophie, Erin and Darcy as the three female friends that make a pact of No more Bad Dates. Let the Vetting begin!

Sophie and Jason are roommates, but he’s a serial nurse dater and works crazy hours to become at doctor and she’s only a barista and she’s not his type. They’re bff’s and nothing more. So Sophie goes on a hunt for dates and then her friends Sophie, Erin and Jason come along to make sure the guys aren’t jerks, like the last guy that dumped Sophie.

This was cute, like all 4 books in the previous series, it’s usually the one guy we’re all rooting for!
