EDIT: I bumped it up to a five. Aside from Storm, this is the best character work I’ve read in a book. We get fantastic dialogue, inner voice, and POVs from cultures and characters we hardly ever see. The King’s Landing and Ironborn chapters were among my favs.
Graphic: Death, Murder, Sexual content, War, Blood, Injury/Injury detail, Misogyny, Physical abuse, Religious bigotry, Torture, and Violence
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship, Cursing, Colonisation, and Sexual assault
Although it is not explicit, there are multiple mentions of adults saying sexually violent things about children. It’s brief, but be aware.linnylionheart's review against another edition

I don't have much to say. It's still one of the weakest books in the series. XD
But the character work and atmosphere is still phenomenal so even if the plot is weak (mostly due to this being just half of the book, but also because the character arcs are not satisfying), it's still worth 4 stars. Plus, I really understand everything better and better with every reread.
And the more I understand the characters, their motives and scheming, the more I'm convinced this is all just leading to the plot of Winds of Winter. Which makes everything SO frustrating.
Still not a fan of the iron born. But I love the Jamie chapters (and Sam, Arya, even Alayne) and do really think the Cersei chapters are brilliantly done. Brienne is still somewhere at the bottom, although there are details hidden in her boring journey, so I appreciated it more this time.
Reread No 3, 31.12.2019
