These Bundle/ Battle books are fun. They are not as great as the Poirot books. But you will never know what you can expect with these books. They always contain foreign intrigue, spies and unexpected twists. I liked Bundle as a main character and the conversations between her and her dad are comedic gold! I am really curious about the coming Netflix series based on this book.

"The Seven Dials Mystery" by Agatha Christie is a riveting mystery that begins with a seemingly innocent weekend gathering at Chimneys, an English country house. The sudden death of a guest sets off a chain of events, revealing a clandestine society and a complex web of intrigue. The characters, from the resourceful Lady Eileen "Bundle" Brent to the enigmatic Superintendent Battle, are skillfully portrayed, each contributing to the unfolding drama. Agatha Christie masterfully navigates through red herrings and unexpected twists, maintaining suspense until the final revelation. The novel is a delightful blend of humor, suspense, and intricate plotting, showcasing Christie's prowess in the mystery genre.

Thoroughly enjoyed this mystery! A fun listen.

Gerry Wade had proved himself to be a champion sleeper; so the other house guests decided to play a practical joke on him. Eight alarm clocks were set to go off, one after the other, starting at 6.30 a.m. But when morning arrived, one clock was missing and the prank had backfired with tragic consequences. For Jimmy Thesiger in particular, the words ‘Seven Dials’ were to take on a new and chilling significance…

Ahh the classic! First of all, I completely forgot that I had read the translated version of this 20 years ago, which made the entire reading experience fresh again. Once the major plot twist was revealed, I remembered this as one of my favourite Christie books, as the mystery was truly multi-layered and complex.

I loved the continuous escalations of a practical joke into murder into secret identities in this one. The characters were interesting, and the whodunnit was a true surprise to me both times - the first time I read it, and this time.

I’d recommend this to any Christie fan out there. And if you’ve read it, I’d recommend a re-read!
