The three-fourths of this book were amazing, but the conflict at the end made it less enjoyable and changed my whole perception of the story. Nonetheless, it was entertaining and cute. I liked how likeable, thoughtful and vulnerable mmc was.
(diversity: plus-size heroine)

Can someone please send me a Leo Hernandez? I'll leave my door unlocked. *winks* A steamy read, Hail Mary was my first foray into sports romance, and it certainly won't be my last. (Seriously y'all, I'm obsessed!) Mary is such a badass FMC, her character growth from being bullied in high school to growing into herself (and her curves!) as a tattoo artist was such great growth to see. I loved how she took no crap from anyone including Leo. Meanwhile Leo is over here with his carefully cultivated playboy persona, with a heart of gold underneath, totally unprepared for bombshell Mary. I love it when the male lead is head over heels for the fmc, and this was no different. I also really loved seeing an actual curvy female lead, who is confident in their skin and who they are. (I would love to have Mary style me, her sense of fashion is so cool!) While the two briefly knew each other one summer as teenagers, an unfortunate incident led to Mary swearing off him forever. Of course years later she ends up moving into the house where he lives with a few other hot football players, leading to the other so delicious forced proximity trope we all know and love. Leo's reaction to just seeing Mary day to day was so funny, the man is so whipped it is insane. (Of course she won't give him the time of day, go girl!)  Other then being fantastic in bed,  and the football field, Leo also cooks for Mary, I mean who can resist that!  We all know what ends up happening, an enemies to roommates to lovers situation, and by god was the pay off worth it. I read this all in one sitting, Kandi Steiner's writing sucked me in till the very last page. This is the fourth book in the Red Zone Rivals series, and I just know the rest are going to be equally as amazing. A must read for lovers of romance, badass female mcs, and sizzling chemistry.
