soooo good!!!! rick riordan has made me love men named leo extra!!!! they were soo good together. AND THE FREAKING CLAY AND GIANA BONUS SCENE R U KIDDING ME??????
however, kandi steiner drives me CRAZY with these third act breakups!!! i understand why mary was mad, but i dont think it was worth breaking up over. and also mary’s mom never apologized for making her feel bad about being a tattoo artist??? that made me mad. but what didnt make me mad was the freaking HAIL MARY. i almost cried bc it was so perfect. did kandi make her named mary just so she could do that???? bc thats genius!!!!

"I don't think my story will be as light as yours"
"So, let me sit in the darkness with you"

I loved this book!! This series holds such a special place in my heart, I love all the main characters

One thing that really thrived in this book were the friendships between all the characters. I loved how quickly the other roommate's adopted Mary into their friend group and became really close. I loved the scene with all of the girls and how supportive they were for each other and there for each other. Also the same can be said for the guys as well (I did miss Holden not being in this book as much tho)

I loved how we truly got the backstory of how Mary and Leo first met and how their friendship developed as well as the fall out of it

Random list of highlights which may be a little spoliery
- Zeke being so supportive of Reiley (he may have made my cry in the kitchen scene)
- Clay and Giana are the only ones allowed to do the [redacted] trope
- Leo getting his letterman and letting Mary wear it on the roof
- I love Braden and Kyle and glad we got to see a lot more of them in this book
- Mary giving Leo his first tattoo and it also being one of her first big ones
- Leo running to Mary in the stands after their win (gave me 'A Cinderella Story' vibes like the scene at the end of that film idk why)
- Giana being an icon™ and getting into a slump after reading Elsie Silver cos same
- the candles 🥺

- friends to enemies to lovers
- forced proximity
