I really liked this book. It celebrates the mundane and the strange.

What was particularly interesting to me about this collection of essays was that Sedaris (since the essays are autobiographical, the author is the narrator) seemed to, at times, observe his family as if he were an outsider -- while he at other times shows that there are things that would make no sense at all to people who did not belong to his family. With this, the book gives the reader a sense of intimacy and inclusion, while simultaneously making sure that the flaws and absurdities of all characters are clearly visible. "Dress Your Family" is mainly about the divides and differences between relatives, about what binds them together, and about how one may struggle to position oneself and construct an identity in relation to their family. On top of that, it also explores to a certain extent the pervasive impact that an obsessive-compulsive disorder can have on one's life. A fun and interesting collection of stories both mundane and insane.

En general me ha gustado mucho el rollito de Sedaris. Como siempre en estos casos, algunos relatos son fascinantes y otros más meh.
