Once or Twice a year I end up reading a book that I know absolutely nothing about. I’ve seen this book in book stores and under bestselling lists but the circumstances that caused me to buy this book, I’m not sure, I think there was a best seller sale on Amazon and I bought it. It was in my library for months and I like to read these books in between my binges of huge Epic Fantasy and Sci-Fi books. I finished a series and needed to start something small and hard hitting...
This book was exactly that. The way the Author sets up the stage and the characters and Seamlessly brings this book back and forth through time always keeps questions on your mind and keeps you enthralled.
I loved this book, it it so far out of my wheel house and I’m always pleasantly surprised when I jump into a book I’ve never researched and basically bought by complete accident.
I was openly weaping with tears down my face at the end of this book. 5/5 Stars I think this book is for everyone.

Heartbreaking and stunningly-written... People told me that this book was every bit as much about its setting as its characters, but I had no idea how much I’d love both. This is definitely one of my favourite books for 2019.

A worthwhile read; an interesting blend of genres. However, while I like a character study, this one didn’t quite hit its mark. Painting a picture of a person for a reader to interpret means you’ve got to be very sure of the image you have presented when it comes time for dishing out desserts in the final chapters.

Gdzie śpiewają raki Delia Owens
Jedna z najlepszych książek, jaką czytałam w tym roku i całym życiu. Pomimo tego, że znałam historię Kyi i zakończenie z filmu, nie żałuję, że ją zakupiłam. Jest to powieść o trudnej drodze przez życie wypełnione przede wszystkim samotnością i odtrąceniem. O miłości i nadziei w dobre zamiary ludzi tych bliskich sercu, jak i zupełnie obcych.
Na początku byłam sceptycznie nastawiona na te długie opisy przyrody wplecione w każdy rozdział, ale z każdym kolejnym płynęło się dalej i dalej w opowieść o Kyi i jej zamiłowaniu do otaczających ją od małego zwierząt i roślin. To było dla mnie miłe doświadczenie, którego brakowało mi w poprzednio czytanych książkach. Od połowy powieści trudno było się oderwać i porzucić lekturę.
Kya to postać, z którą z każdym przeczytanym rozdziałem jest się bardziej zżytym i coraz bardziej się ją rozumie. Skoczek i Mabel są kochani i opiekuńczy, a ich wsparcie przez całe życie Kyi jest przykładem do naśladowania. Tak samo Tate, który choć popełnił błąd zostawiając główną bohaterkę bez słowa przez tyle lat, próbuje naprawić swoje błędy i zostaje z nią do samego końca, nawet gdy umiera i okazuje się, że była winna w zabójstwie.
Ta książka, chociaż prowadzona raczej powolnym tempem, jest naprawdę wciągająca i na pewno zostaje ze mną na dłużej, bo wiem że często będę do niej wracać. Zawiera wszystkie moje ulubione wątki - kryminał, tajemnica i miłość - opowiedziane z perspektywy dojrzewającej Dziewczyny z Bagien, kochającej naturę bardziej niż cokolwiek (i kogokolwiek) innego.

When reading a want a book to capture my attention initially for me to be motivated to keep reading it and this book did not satisfy that motivation, because of that I couldn't finish this book. May come back to it later, but as of right now, its a no-go.
