3.5 ⭐️ Reading this book tested my patience. The characters and their "environment" were given too much time and attention just to emphasize their interconnectedness, provide a sense of what's happening, and make you guess what would happen next. I tried to understand the author's intention while keeping in mind that she is, in fact, a biologist.

It was initially a 3-star read for me, but I gave it that extra 0.5 because the last quarter had me on the edge of my seat, making the lengthy, drawn-out sections worth it.

Pick up this book if you need a break from modern-day settings or if you want to connect with nature and humanity in a way you might not expect.

Good book! If you love nature and dislike humans, you Will really love this book!

I read this book after watching the movie, and it still surprised me in the best way. You really connect to Kya and root for her the whole way, I enjoyed this read and highly highly recommend the book and movie!

It was pretty good. Not life changing or anything, but good. I did feel bad for Kya. Really liked the beginning a lot, better than the ending I think although the last few pages were really sad.
i honestly was suprised that kya turned out to be the killer, was not expecting that. I wonder if tate thought any different of her after he found out.
but overall, it was fine. Was not as crazy good as everyone says it was.
