Time to maximize the cozy! I enjoyed this very much, especially since moving to the Pacific Northwest where we have somewhat dreary winters (not sure that we can compete with Denmark, however!). I thought it would be nice to learn from their attitude of coziness so that winter can be a pleasant time rather than a wet, cold slog. I feel like I would give it 3.5 stars because while the structure is pretty good and the author has great humor, it's not quite as lovely as some of the ideas it presents.

That being said, it's worth checking out at the library or even giving to someone as part of hygge emergency kit.

I don't know why this justified an entire book to just repeat over and over again. Seems like it could've just been an article for a news website instead of stretching this material to make up pages. I found myself skimming just to finish (and didn't miss much).

Let me save you the time. On the last page of the book, the author says "Hygge is about making the most of what you have." For those in Denmark, as well as those in much of the world, that consists of wool socks, blankets, coffee, reading, cake or sweets, warm food, candles, board games, cozy clothes, and most importantly, spending time with friends and family at home. Other than using "hygge" in what felt like every other sentence, that's the whole book. Nothing revolutionary. Save yourself the time you would spend reading this book, and just do something that makes you happy.
