2.75 stars. Did I love it? No. Would I read it again? Probably not. Very slow start where god forbid they communicate. Like there's emotional constipation and then there's whatever this was. I liked the ace representation. The sexy times being like in the last 3/4 of the book I was fine with, I love a slow burn. I liked the catfishing storyline oddly and would have been fine with a bit more groveling tbh. Found family.
Things I didn't like: these two have been best friends for 10 years but it didn't really seem like that? How freaking long it was. Like these authors need an editor to be like NOPE, LESS WORDS PLS. I started skimming pretty soon after they got together.

All the therapy, all the hockey, all the dark side of the funny friend. But also love this iteration of Ace rep because Elias's experience/expression of ace is so different from what is typically on page in romance stories but it feels so much more accurate to live experiences. Often for the first third or so I did want to throw things at everyone for not seeing how Nisha was struggling, but also at Nisha for hiding his struggles which again I think is more true than people want to believe when people are struggling with addiction. Add in on page hockey that is realistic and it's just a great story about the down sides of fame if you will.

Emotional. Loved the asexual rep. Didn't really like the mild "casual sex as self harm" thing.
Some who don't like lack of communication would find this frustrating. It takes a while for them to make progress.

Workplace Friends to Lovers mm dual point of view
Should be read in series
Asexual and Pan MCs
Cw: ace phobia, alcoholism, abuse
Nikolai and Elias have been best friends since they met on the ice at 19. Eleven years later and things in their lives are changing; revealing long held secrets that cause ruptures they may not be able to repair.
The characters were well developed and the issues faced I thought were handled with care. The characters in the first and second book are very tightly entwined so the first book heavily influences the second. I would have liked to have seen a stronger editor involved as there were many times that rewrites of sentences caused me to be pulled out of the story. Additionally I thought there were times where there was too much repetition of narrative points or thoughts that did not add value. The first 25% was very intense for me and took me longer than the next 50%.
Overall, I liked the story and characters.
