Interesting

This is an interesting tale of the Phoenix myth, a new approach that pits gods against men, and our own minds. While the base is good, I had a hard time getting behind the actual characters, or the scattered way the narrative is presented. Reactions seemed misplaced or disjointed - not to mention the numerous time jumps, not of which are chronological. I’m intrigued, but I’m not hooked.

First person, multiple POV, slow burn RH, fantasy, cliffhanger ending. Characters are all adults.

Different and interesting

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. The secrets are intriguing and the bad guy - man I hope he gets his slowly and painfully. I like Alina and am liking her guys. That ending...did not see that coming...

Wow, just wow! This book was so amazing. It's hard to believe it is your first book!

Venmos is in so much trouble... holy hell Alina has something or should I say a couple of someone's, to live for now. She is totally going to roast that bitch!

Killian....mmm he is such a sweetie! He just took everything in stride like a boss.

Galen? Yes please! Oh please tell me things get spicy with him and that he turns into a man!

Branor, holy fuck.... let me not soil it!

The Gods and Goddesses are tripping me out! What is their deal? I just want to bitch slap all of them!

Seriously, this book is amazing! Alina's character grows so much throughout the book and I absolutely can't wait to see what happens next!

I really enjoyed the character development in this series and it is really well written! I didn’t enjoy the back and forth between present day and past and the different POV between all the different characters. But if you enjoy those things then this is the perfect book for you as it’s a really great storyline.
