I asked for a murder mystery/survival book with a tiny sprinkle of romance, and my boyfriend found me this book, and I got exactly what I wanted. It was a fun read, and at the part near the end(where only 5 of them were left alive) I pretty much devoured.
However, I couldn't give this book 4 stars or more for one simple thing: I really hated Meg. The Main Character was so insufferable, and I get that she is a teenager, so thinking like that is pretty much normal, but it was so hard to read without going "for the love of God.🙄" In the second part of the book, she became less annoying, so there is that.
The plot twist was nice. Who I believed to be a murderer, that person wasn't and I feel like the author made a pretty good job on making me believe that all clues led toTJ being the killer. Not sure if I'm happy with Ben being the actual killer, simply because I'm not a fan of fake deaths.
Would recommend this book to those who can deal with annoying characters because the story itself was pretty good.

Genre Young Adult | Murder Mystery
TEN by Gretchen McNeil is a young adult murder mystery. Normally I love this genre, but this book just didn’t do it for me. There were too many times that the characters had me rolling my eyes that I contemplated not finishing it. However, I trudged on because the book was fast paced. Ultimately though, I just couldn’t find many things that I enjoyed about it. You can see my specific likes and dislikes below.

Very well done! From the plot, the reason for the murders, to the twist at the end. I loved it!

Ten was a great read!! There are many twists to this story, I loved it!! I will never find a book quite like this one.
I thought this book was good at keeping the suspense up and not letting the characters make too many dumb decisions. This book was smarter than I expected
Dear Gretchen,
Agatha Christie, Lois Duncan and R.L. Stine called and they want their formula back.
To be fair this book was creepy and fun. I read it in a day of compulsive reading and was quite spooked when I finally teared myself away to go to sleep last night. If you are looking for a scary, attention-keeping book to blaze right thru then this one is perfect for you. If you want an original and unpredictable plot, and well-developed characters then you should keep on walking. If you have read any of the aforementioned authors, or watched cheap horror flicks you can pretty much figure out what is going to happen. A predictable mystery kinda sucks. The characters are generally unlikable and one-dimensional, which, considering they are about to be murdered one-by-one, is not an out-and-out bad thing. Oh, and they are also really, really stupid. Enjoyable, but completely and utterly forgettable. I finished it six hours ago and already had to think on what the main characters name was...
