This is an undoubtedly beautiful book. The beginning and end were captivating and page-turners despite there being no clear mystery or designed adventure. The author is simply a wonderful storyteller. With that said, I did put the book down for about a year due to disinterest in some of the charzcters in the middle. I was delighted to pick it back up recently and finish it all within a day or 2.

why did he write 120 pages and about 5 of them were meaningful or memorable? if i ever have to hear about fly fishing again in my life it'll be too soon. tapped out after a river runs through it, not willing to subject myself to a short story about pimping or whatever.
