I liked Gloria and Aldo better than Luke and Harper, but this one frustrated me because there were so many duplicate scenes in that first book.

This story takes place at the same time as book 1, but we get to see Gloria, the abused FMC, and Aldo, the injured vet's story. I liked their characters for most of the book, but the unnecessary third-act break-up and repeated scenes detract from what could have been a better book.

3.5 rounded down stars. I'm on to book 3, and really hope it moves differently.

AMAZING!

Gosh, I want Aldo Moretta to be my book boyfriend! What a guy! This story was so precious and I loved the backstory leading up to their (spoiler) happily ever after. I really liked Luke and Harper’s story but this one was so sweet and just really… humbling? I’m not sure if that’s the word I want but I loved it. Gloria is so perfect and I really enjoyed seeing her character grow. I also liked how this book intertwined with the first book. Great read!

Alright as someone who loves Lucy Score books, I just couldn’t with this one. There were way too many variables going against our hero that made me just want more for the heroine and that is why I’m giving this a low rating. I just didn’t truly believe he actually loved her because what he pretty much allowed to continue to happen to her. There was no remorse in my opinion, only excuses. And I don’t care how many times you say you love someone, if you can let her be treated the way our heroine was treated and continue to pursue other woman… I don’t buy it dude.

Aldo and Gloria….*sigh*

Man have they been through it. If you’ve read book one of this series you know that Gloria is a survivor of long term abuse and Aldo is a military vet who survived an IED. They are both broken, hurting, trying desperately to heal, to find peace, to find real, lasting love.

This is a story of redemption and deep, powerful love.
