The author gave the characters complex backgrounds to explain their development and relationships. I didn’t love that even though this is the second in a series there were entire sections and almost whole chapters with the same dialogue and verbatim descriptions of scenes as in the first. It gave insight into these characters’ perspectives as opposed to the other book’s main characters but came off very repetitive.
this got so boring (hence why it took me so long) and should’ve been half the amount of pages. i enjoyed parts of the story but not enough to make this read very memorable.

Overall I enjoyed it but there was so much overlap from the first book I found myself skipping some parts since I knew what happened. But great story.

When I found out that the second book was about Gloria and Aldo, I was a bit confused because I had gotten a glimpse of their story from the first book.
It made me realize that their stories happened simultaneously, so I knew that I'd be reading another story that had already happened from the first book.
So I was a bit hesitant with the second book; that's why it took me a long time to proceed with this one.
Also, I admit I really like Aldo's character from the first book; that's why I pushed through with this book.
As a reader, I really can't be happy 100% because I know for a fact that something will happen to him in the book, as it was already revealed in the first book.
That's even if the scenes are heart-fluttering and heartwarming, I really can't get into it because I was waiting for the accident to happen at any moment. I was asking myself, "How would Gloria help?" because what I saw from the first book was that Aldo pushed Gloria away.
I'm glad that I read this book because I really enjoyed how each of the characters played a huge role in healing one another.
It's like they were saving for each other, and that's a huge impact for me as a reader. I think I have this love for people pining someone for a very long time, such as Aldo. His character comes off so strong that at first it looks like he was diving to deep and then I realized that he was already waiting for her for a decade, and the moment he got his chance, he was obviously not letting that go.
I also love the dynamics of these characters with their mothers, and though both of them have very different relationships with their mothers, It's important for them to have their mothers' approval of what they do with their lives. That was such a good addition to the story.
I have to say I really enjoyed this book more than the first one and will definitely start with the last installment of this series since I got to enjoy this one.
