at first it took me a while to get into it but oh my god this is the BEST book ever. This is genuinely my fav book that I have read in a while I can’t deal omg. Their romance is literal perfection, Aldo is incred and Gloria is so relatable. Honestly it was the best book ever!

This was a great follow up story to Luke and Harper’s story. Loved getting to see Benevolence from another point of view.

I loved pretend you're mine, so I was thrilled that this was Aldo and Gloria's story! I loved how it took place in the exact time frame of pretend you're mine, it was really interesting to read some of the same scenes in different points of view. I loved how Aldo had more going on than we realized from the previous book. I really enjoyed this a lot

If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. Gloria and Aldo’s story is beautiful, and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I love Lucy Score’s writing, and Finally Mine was definitely on par with all her other books.

Love, healing and finding yourself

I loved this secret crush, small town, healing romance with a side of big secrets. It is a heartwarming and spicy story as seen through the eyes of two intense, strong and passionate characters. I was feeling some big feels with this one - wounded characters always draw me in. I just wanna reach into the story and hug them to help them heal. After being physically abused for a decade,  Gloria finally decides to leave her abuser.  Now that he’s in jail for attempted murder and assault on her new friend (Harper from Pretend You’re Mine), she has to figure out how to be the new Gloria. Aldo is a structural engineer in small town Benevolence and in the national guard. He’s had a crush on Gloria since HS.  He is about to leave on a six month deployment and before leaving asks Gloria for a date when he gets back. Life changes their trajectory when a terrible injury brings Aldo back early and Gloria might need to be the hero for both of them. I have such a soft spot for the people who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy, like Gloria and the Aldo post-injury. So I love when they finally see their truth and they get swoon worthy HEAs. To get to there, they’ll both having to work on healing, baggage unpacking and life course correction.  This heartwarming story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. Note, this story parallels a large part of book one in the series so at times it felt like I had already read the book.

Melissa Moran did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

This is a good story, but a lot of the scenes are repeats from Pretend Your Mine, just told by the new narrators.

This book follows Gloria and Aldo. A side couple we met in Pretend You’re Mine.
Pretend You’re Mine follows Harper and Luke. I did not like that couple so I was disappointed to see how much Harper was in this book. Usually when you read the second book, the original couple is barely featured. I feel like Harper was in this way too much, with a few scenes even being repeated in this book.

This was definitely not for me. Will not be continuing with this series, and I’m seriously questioning whether I will read any more books by this author.

Not that I would ever go to Lucy Score for Mexican representation but this book mentions (and I quote) “Sara had the beautiful coloring and luxurious dark hair of her Mexican mama.” and then never mention it again.
