I had a little bit of trouble suspending my disbelief during this one, not that I expect this series to be super accurate/serious. It was nice to see more snippets of Andy as a father, though.

I received this book as part of the blind date with a book at my local library. Initially from the cover, I was excited. It looked interesting and the blurb sounded fun. Soon into the story, I realized that this was part of a series and I didn't know these characters the way the author wanted me to. I though about going back and starting the series from the beginning but then found out that this is the 13th book in that series! I wasn't committed enough for that lol. I pressed on trying to develop a connection with these characters but it never happened. I felt that the plot structure was very cleanly plotted and foreshadowed almost to the point where I saw the ending coming from way too early on. The overall writing wasn't horrible and I did chuckle a few times. However, the comedy is very "dad jokeish" in nature and that doesn't appeal to me for an entire book and definitely not the entire series.
