These books are getting a bit repetitive, which is really no surprise in such a long series, but this one was still laugh-out-loud funny, and Andy Carpenter doesn't get any less likeable.
I had a little bit of trouble suspending my disbelief during this one, not that I expect this series to be super accurate/serious. It was nice to see more snippets of Andy as a father, though.
This entry in the Andy Carpenter series has all the familiar elements that keep me reading these books: entertaining supporting characters, brisk plot pacing, wry first person narration, and devotion to rescued dogs. The plot in this one did strain my suspension of disbelief a bit more than normal, but I made it through with a satisfied smile as I read the last paragraph.
OK, 5 stars for being the Andy Carpenter series, although there's always a possibility for disappointment. A remote possibility. So far, I haven't been disappointed. Maybe if Marcus doesn't make an appearance or two I would, but so far I've been lucky in that regard. If you've been sleeping under a rock and haven't read any of this series, Marcus is kind of a low-key super-hero. He's basically strong, fast, and all-knowing. If you get in trouble and he's anywhere in the same country, you don't need to worry. He'll show up and put down any bad guys before you know he's there.
Other than that, it's a story about a lawyer and some dogs, a few senior citizens in a computer club, and some other regulars. If this doesn't sound like an interesting read, ignore me and read it anyway. I won't waste your time telling you what it's about, because it really doesn't matter.

As a fan of the Andy Carpenter series, I can say I wasn't disappointed. It's fast paced and funny. The story flows smoothly and keeps the reader hooked.
