It felt like this book was trying to do way too many things and I felt it's progressive messaging was about as subtle as being beaten with a sledgehammer. I feel like the structure, with each chapter alternating between a different character's perspective, was a bit to busy (especially since I didn't feel like any of the characters in the large cast were fleshed out). Then there's the other smaller things that irked me - Kelly is supposed to be this incredible hacker, but is unable to find a phone number or any information about her child? Kelly takes the weirdest route across the country (swinging south to Alabama to get to NYC from the PNW? Huh? Orchid and Co. are going on this long walk up the east coast into northern Quebec and it takes a chapter? Maybe I'm just overthinking it.

Too on the nose. The commentary on climate change was so in your face. Also something about the way this book depicts sex, specifically lesbian sex really irked me in a way I can’t fully explain, it just felt like it was written through a heterosexual lens. Idk just not for me
