Synopsis:
Lowland way is a friendly neighbourhood where all the neighbours look out for each other. This is until Darren and Jodie move in and cause disruption to the whole street. One day a horrific crime shocks the streets and things begin to spiral downwards quickly.

Review:

I have mixed reviews about this read. The twists and plot kept me on my toes but also lost me in places and made the story a little unbelievable.

I honestly struggled to connect with the characters, I found most of them unlikeable but I was still eager to know their story and enjoyed their toxicness.

I felt the story was slow to move but then rushed the most important part which through me off a little.

I felt there was not enough suspense for me but it didn't stop me wanting to know what had happened.

Fantastic story by Louise Candlish. Really highly recommend to fans of this genre. It was well written, well paced, great characters and kept me guessing right to the end.

I really enjoyed this book. It was tense at moments but also relatable. Everyone can imagine a nightmare neighbour moving in and changing their lives. There was a twist within the book I wasn’t expecting so that added some extra suspense. It’s different from other crime books which was refreshing as they can sometimes all be quiet similar. My only criticism would been some loose ends that never got tied. Would recommend.

Characters were one dimensional and ending was disappointing.

Intriguing book. Had me reading massive chunks in one go. The ending, in terms of writing skills and narrative devices, gave me sonething to think about. I really appreciated it, it was cleverly done. I wanted more but it truly wasn't needed -- rather like when you're given a proper portion size but you're used to overeating. Would recommend this as a book club title for both active and passive readers.

I had been really looking forward to this after reading Our House, but I just didn’t enjoy this one as much. I didn’t find any of the characters that likeable.

The narration on the audiobook was good, but I had a hard time caring about the characters.
