Awful pacing. Literally felt like it was happening in real time. Lack of relevant character development. This author has a strange bondage with classism as a theme. It’s boring. Flat conclusion. This story never should have made it to print.

I listened to the audio version of this and absolutely loved the characters and all their different voices. The story is set in a well to do residential road in London and centres on the lives of a small group of neighbours. Naomi and Ralph, Ralph's brother Finn and his wife Tess next door, Sissy who is on her own and runs a b&b and Ant, Em and baby Sam.
Trouble starts when a house at 1 Lowland Way is inherited by Daniel Booth and his partner Jodie. The pair are not welcome in the neighbourhood. They are loud, uncouth, do not care about annoying their neighbours, run a car business from the property and are noisily renovating the house themselves.
What then ensues is a very realistic war, the rest of the residents versus Booth. In their middle class privileged ways the women and men are outraged that there is not a quick way to get rid of their 'Neighbours from Hell' and so very quickly we are able to witness battle lines drawn, relationships strained and devious plots designed to gain the upper hand.
This story is full of twists and great connections that once revealed make the story full of depth. Just what will some people resort to when put under financial or health pressures? And what plots are discussed in secret purely devised from a view of snobbery and desire to maintain appearances and prestige?
Unfortunately there is mishap after mishap and in trying to get rid of the unwanted newcomers the law is repeatedly broken with devastating and unexpected consequences.
I was thoroughly absorbed by this book and loved it!

So many twists and turns! Throughly enjoyed it! Well written!

GREAT characters. I'm still LOL-ing at Tess and her inner dialogue.

Here's a link to the review that made me want to read this book.

This was a very fast moving thriller - I read it in ONE DAY and did not want to put it down!! I really enjoyed reading the different perspectives of the neighbors. I also liked that there was no completely unrealistic twist designed just to shock the reader. The format made the mystery that much more suspenseful - before and after the night in question. The ending fell a little flat for me and felt slightly convenient, but overall a fun, fast read!
