That feeling you get when you FINALLY get your hands on a new book by an author you loved, then you read it and wish you had all that time back? Yeah. By the time something happened I no longer cared. I did finish the book because I thought there would be clever twist like there was in Our House. There wasn’t.

Forced myself to read it halfway through before giving it back to the library. I just couldn't get into this book and didn't care about the characters.

Great book about a neighbor feud. Only problem is, I thought it would be a who done it but it was very clear who did it and it had a very anti-climatic ending. Not sorry I read it just disappointed in the ending.

I loved my first read from Louise Candlish! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Lowland Way is an idyllic place where everyone wants to live. Gorgeous homes, wonderful, welcoming neighbors, and children who can play together.

Darren and Jodie are the new neighbors, and they aren’t being neighborly. Their music is always blaring, they immediately start renovations and all that comes along with that, and they have a used car lot in their yard- no joke! Honestly, I would have a hard time if they were my neighbors!

I wasn’t sure about this book. I didn’t know what to expect, I wasn’t sure if this was the book I wanted to read right now. Yet, I started the book and couldn’t put it down. I read it in a short timeframe, sneaking time to read just another chapter, another page, or another 100 pages.

Those People wasn’t the thriller that I expected it to be. It was a story about neighborhoods coming together and coming apart. There was a lot of family drama. The neighbors and families all come together in a series of twists and turns that lead to deaths, an arrest, some accusations that pulled apart friendships, and families that will never be the same. I had guesses, I tried to follow the clues but Louise Candlish is talented at leading the reader down a curvy path that doesn’t always lead to the right place.

Those People is a book that will make you appreciate your good neighbors and realize your not so good neighbors aren’t quite so bad. Pick up your own copy and meet the families on Lowland Way.

I had a difficult time engaging with this book. I loved the premise - I live on a private drive and there's always a moment of anxiety when a new neighbor moves in. What's going to change with the status quo? Will they be good neighbors? But even though I liked that and the structure of the changing POV, I couldn't get invested it and started to skim to find out whodunnit and be done.

Unfortunately this book did nothing to get me out of my reading slump. Yes I finished it but only because I was hoping it would get better.

THOSE PEOPLE has so much promise, and the writing was fine, but I just didn’t care about any of the characters. I’m going to post two choices in my stories and hopefully you will select something that will keep me reading.

Easy read. Resolution could have been tighter but was not unsatisfactory. Good holiday read

I hated all the characters. They were all horrible people. The story seemed to have no point. So much worse than her last book, which I really loved. This had no.plot at all.

This book was 150 pages too long. Most of the book was random filler events. The characters were very annoying and just not realistic. Sissy made sense in terms of motive but she didn't make sense in terms of her sensibility. I could never see her character messing with the scaffolding in the first place. Ant didn't make sense either. Also the relationship dynamics didn't really come together in the end holistically.
