This book is so slow and dull… whilst a neighbourhood dispute does turn murderous, theres little to no suspense and the ending is confusing. It felt unfinished and I was annoyed I stuck with it!

Easy read, I found the characters annoying as people which is probably the idea.

Probably just me, I didn’t get this story. A lot of characters to follow and a bizarre ending. I was expecting something so different.
This was a bit different that Louise Candlish’s other books. It seems a bit more over-the-top and muddled than her cleverly crafted previous works. Admittedly, Our House was a bit on the waffling side in parts, this book has the opposite problem and jumps around frantically.
All the characters were horrible. I kind of felt badly for Darren and Jodie moving into that cliquey, entitled neighbourhood at the beginning. Sure the noise of the newcomers would drive anyone crazy but the rest of them were just as crackers.
This book seemed to be missing something. There were a lot of red herrings that dissolved and it left a lot to be desired in the hasty wrap-up. While Our House was under-edited, this feels over-edited to the point where it lost of lot of coherence and fluidity.

I am thankful I decided to listen to this book vs physically reading. The narrator is what kept me going but goodness this story was long and drawn out. It was very slow and if you like a build up, you may appreciate it more than I did. All of the characters felt privileged and not relatable. These attitudes certainly added a small suspense to the story but it just wasn't enough for me.
If you enjoy a slightly thrilling domestic "thriller" you may enjoy it!

Lowland Way is a Utopia yes it is! Everyone is friends with everyone else and all is calm; until Daren and Jodie move in, They are the proverbial neighbours from hell. Playing loud music at all hours and using the street as a garage/ scrapyard.
The peace of the Utopia is shattered and the calm is no more. But was it all ideal as it seemed or have Darren and Jodie merely opened up the existing cracks in the neighbourhood and seemingly ideal marriages. Louise has drawn a devious, twisty tale, that's full of surprises. A great book and all the characters are well drawn. But are any really likeable. Read this book if you want to find out.

3 ½ Stars
The setting is a nice , friendly ,peaceful neighborhood where people follow the rules of the council until the unfit neighbors Darren Booth and Jodie move in. Playing ear-piercing music at all hours , selling used cars from their front yard they disrupt the peace in the neighborhood and when someone ends up dead the list of suspects increases, secrets come tumbling out and distrust among the previously peaceful neighbors increase.
Those People from Louise Candlish is a slow burning domestic thriller which is told from alternating voices and timelines The characters are flawed and unlikable which works for this story. Overall a quick entertaining read
I would like to thank Berkley Publishing Group & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.
