Not gonna lie, I thought this book was going to be overhyped based on the social media it got. But it was definitely worth it. Josh & Aly are definitely a pair to be reckoned with. Josh with his stalker cinnamon roll self & Aly with her bad-assery self. The only thing I wish was included was a scene where they filmed a video for Josh's page. I was very with the book & can't wait to read book 2!

Okay so I went into this super open minded even though I’m usually a closed door romance girl and only really enjoy the spicy stuff when it’s Black characters, so you can imagine my shock at some of those scenes 😭😭😭

That said, I actually liked the book! I really enjoyed the main characters’ jobs and the fact that there was this unbreakable trust between the two of them. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the epilogue since it was a bit too graphic for me, and that knife scene (iykyk) was a lot. But overall it was a pretty solid read.

I think my favorite theme was the idea that just because you’re biologically related to someone doesn’t mean you’re anything like them. You can be your own person. Oh and it definitely took me a minute to adjust to the love interests being white, but once I got past that it was good!

The pining was good but didn't last very long.  I appreciated the simping but the overall murderous/stalker vibes with marshmallow interior was extreme to the point of being comical (net negative).

When it turned into a smut fest of kinky proportions, any sense of plot was lost for the sake of boning, which is fine if that's what you're looking for.

The crumbs of found family were what kept me going.
