for sure this is the book three idiots and nanban came from and he didnt get the credit

ooh, a book set in an IIT, simplistic, but a good timepass read that takes a couple of hours out of your life and leaves you, well, feeling just a little bit better...

This book is dripping with misogyny. Just when I would start to think the author possibly cannot come up with another stereotypical, testosterone-infused remark about how "girls just dont get it", "girls are so complicated", etc etc, Chetan Bhagat would surprise me with yet another overused trope about "girls", or should i say, his warped idea of girls. The only people this book might appeal to is heterosexual, sex-crazed, too-obsessed-with-the-fact-that-they-have-something-hanging-between-their-legs airheads. I didnt expect anything better from a man like Chetan Bhagat but I curse the person responsible for putting this in my damn syllabus. I wish I could give this negative stars, but even then, no numerical amount will be able to truly convey my disgust for this book and its author.

The storyline was too frivolous for my liking, the diction and syntax even more so. The narrator of the book, Hari, is definitely the most annoying of all the characters. This book might've been slightly more bearable if the narrator was literally anyone else, even Professor Cherian or Studious Venkat.

And, to everyone who defend this book saying that it doesn't make someone reach for a dictionary, I am afraid reading books isnt meant for you. If a book cannot teach you a couple new words, why are you even reading it to begin with? Also, I can assure you, one can write a better story in even simpler words. Please dont delude yourself into thinking this a good book or worth your time just because it was a bestseller.

Love the movie, so the book

5 stars purely because this is one of the first books I read when I started college and liked the flow of the words, and connected with the storyline. It's a very simple quick read and I'm sure a teen fav.

Beautiful.

the stereotyping is so repetitive and gets on my nerves.
ex: the "girls are like this", "like that"
I know the book is dated but come on??? do only girls like to do things like paint cushions?
and do girls just like to do things "boys"  find boring?
I found no liking for any character.
it didn't have a plot as well.
 the writing was cringe.
 the fat shaming?
knock off version of 3 idiots (a good bollywood movie)
