I wish this book would have been the 2nd in the series because the 2nd book (If the Sun Never Sets) more or less shows what happens in this book…
Also with the second book, we went forward 5 years. Now we’re back in time to the summer directly after Shanghai…
I understand this one follows a different girl (Kris) and the second book continued/finished Farrah & Blake’s story. I just wish that we could have been a tad more chronological than these 3 books were.

Also!! Chapter 24 – I truly believe that everyone should be in the service industry once in their life, in order to appreciate the general public and how they act. This chapter really portrayed that well.
But, with all of that said, I am loving this series. I love the different girls’ personalities. This book really showcased a lot of real life struggles that people go through- grief, debt, loss, heartache, acceptance.
In this book, I wish we would have got more of the other girls/friends from their year abroad. We didn’t really get any of them, but we did in the first two. There were mentions of them, but not a lot.

I've wanted to read this book since it was re-published last year & I picked it up in Walmart just to see the first sentence. It was definitely one that made me want to read more! However, I didn't like this book nearly as much as I liked the first 2 in the series. I loved the Shanghai friend group we got to know so well at the beginning of the series & it was so sad that they were hardly even mentioned in this book.

I never really grew to love Kris or Nate as the main characters and it felt like their story was just ~fine~ but I don't expect it to be one I think about often. I got a little emotional with all the talk of losing a mother because of my own experience with that. But I was never so invested in their stories that I was even close to tears. I think I had really high hopes after the first 2 books in the series and this one just kinda flopped for me.

Full transparency: I read the first two parts of the If Love series about four months ago, and honestly, I wasn’t interested in continuing. But as a huge Ana Huang fan who loves all her other books, I decided to give part three a shot—and I’m so glad I did!

This is what I imagine falling in love is like for a kardashian.

This was really cute great plot lovely story but… the last 150-200 pgs of subplot were so unnecessary (tho very very juicy and entertaining could’ve been a separate book)
