I was so bored for most of this. The beginning was good, but the middle just dragged which I wasn’t expecting with a  synopsis like this has. Towards the end it seemed like everything was rushed, everything excited was condensed down into a page or two of actual afterthought since the plot had moved on and as the reader we were just getting the character’s memories of the conversation that happened. And then the ending still dragged. At one point the ending is there, we have the happy ending already, and then we time jump and yep, still happy. And then time jump again, still going. Why did we need that? This was so disappointing

'If Love Had a Price' is book 3 of the 'If Love' series and can be read as a standalone. It follows the story of Kris, a wealthy woman and Nate, a struggling actor.

Kris offers Nate $10,000 to seduce her future mother-in-law, Gloria, and break up their relationship before they get married. Nate reluctantly agrees to Kir's proposal, with the terms including $15,000 and a kiss from Kris.

Kris, who comes off as a superficial rich girl, is actually hurt bt her mother's abandonment and her father's lack of interest in her life. She struggles to let people in, afraid to be hurt, and comes across as a bubbly person.

Nate is an ambitious actor, who comes with a dark past. He is grieving his mother's loss and resents his alcoholic father. He is close to his sister and feels responsible to provide for her.

Kris and Nate are from different worlds and are more alike than they realise, making them a perfect fit. They both come from fractured families and have similar feeling and resistance for relationships, battling the same demons. Their relationship unravels and both want to keep it a light summer fling, avoiding the commitment and connection that comes with deep love.

If Love Had a Price review

I really, really enjoyed this one. Like I might as well admit it, if @anahuang writes anything I’ll red it. I’ll read her to do list and it’ll be a solid 3 stars minimum!
I loved the actual story along with the tension and romance between our MCs.
What happens when your dad is engaged to someone awful and can’t see it? Well you hire an actor to try to break them up. You might even start falling for that certain actor too… 😉

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75
Spice: 🌶️.75

This fake dating romance is book 3 in the If Love series, and it was not my favorite. It was a bit underwhelming, but I've been in a mood lately and very hard to impress 😅
