This was fun! I liked all the twists on Indian folktales (and the explanations of it in the back) as well as a princess who doesn't need saving (but could do with having some help). Start of a series, but pretty well contained (which is a preference of mine).

Really fun. I was super entertained and engaged the whole time. The end is a little cliche, but appropriate for the genre and well enough executed that I can ignore it.

This book was so cute! And as my best friend is from New Jersey, I loved the random references (mostly at the beginning) and enjoyed sharing them with her.

I'm excited that I've already got the next books, because I'm looking forward to Kiran's next adventures.

Lots of appeal here- a girl hero, Indian mythology, adventure and humor!

Too "Not Like Other Girls™" for me, and I was struggling to get into it. I realize it's geared towards kids and maybe I would have liked it more when I was younger, but I didn't find it interesting enough to pick up and read

Terrific! I'm so glad we're getting Percy Jackson stories with female protagonists and with mythology from everywhere!

Disappointed-- beautiful cover, but not a great book. (Why do people think all kids like gross stuff anyway?) Regret buying it, was hoping for another Aru Shah-like experience (now THAT was a great book!), but it's just not here.
