Oh holy hell book hangover! Tessa, what have you done to me!?! I am so totally in love with this woman's writing!! Full review to come during release week, but I'm already contemplating starting the next book in the series since it's just sitting on my iPad staring at me, but it's not being released until January 2018...hmm...

I normally like Tessa’s books but this one just wasn’t for me. I was not a fan of the male audiobook narrator, he made everything sound like a grand exclamation and when he did the girl parts he made her sound naive and sweet, when that wasn’t the character. The male main character also was giving me strong Joe from “You” vibes. He was manipulative and a stalker. He also would not take no for an answer, at one point the female character even seemed scared of him. But all of that was ignored and seen as cute and the actions of a man in love. It all gave me a red flag.
Graphic: Emotional abuse, Sexual content, Toxic relationship, Medical content, Stalking, Gaslighting, Toxic friendship, Alcohol
Easy read and I do love how different all of Tessa’s characters are but wow that got so frustrating! I wish we could have seen them as an actual couple but the whole book was their back and forth inability to communicate and then epilogue time jump. I did binge it in under 24 hrs so it still gets at least 4 stars but not my favorite of hers

Police academy recruit Charlie Burns thinks he’s won the lottery when he enters a no-strings relationship with Ever Carmichael. But when she decides she wants a real relationship after all, Charlie engages in increasingly desperate antics to get her back.
This book is honestly so dumb, and yet I was here for it most of the time? I wanted a quick and mindless read and this delivered on that in spades—my friend Hannah called it a junk food book and I totally agree. If you’re looking for literature with a capital-L, you will not find it here, but if you want an escapist and over-the-top rom-com, I actually can’t recommend it enough.
The only reason I didn’t break down and rate this higher was because Charlie’s behavior REALLY annoyed me for a chunk of the book, and the conflict basically boiled down to “they just won’t admit they love each other” which isn’t my favorite. Still, I’m definitely going to read the rest of the series, and I genuinely don’t regret a minute spent consuming this one.
CW: Very mild mentions of a toxic/abusive relationship; parental abandonment
