Vicious. No wonder it's called that. This book is certainly no walk in the park, unless the park is dark and you get stabbed by someone while walking through it. This was a really well written book, with complex thoughts, as 'is there really good or bad?' I liked how the book switched between different timelines and wasn't a chronical recounting. The supernatural system was well explained and fascinating. A lot of murders. A lot of death (but there is a cheat in the game, so not all deaths are definitive). It's a very good book.

The dog dies and comes back to life twice, ultimately living in the end. The deaths are described, which I personally had to skip over. Luckily he ended up being ok.

Eli is so convinced he's the good guy, that he almost could have fooled me during his POV chapters. He's such a well written zealot.

"we could be dead" "that's a risk everyone takes by living" okay Richard Campbell Gansey III. I liked Victor, he's obviously not a good person, and we're told as much, but he's a good character and I like his relationship with Sydney (who I love <3 Mitchell Turner, Sydney Clarke you will always be famous)

don't really have much to say. good book, well written plot and characters, imo did not really need a sequel but Vengeful is already on hold at the library.

By far Schwab's best book I've read. Great premise and excellent pacing, but lack of POC characters is very obvious and her female characters continue to be flat and uninteresting.

Like, we're really naming the seductress with persuasion and coercion powers Serena? And we're just going to blatantly reference the fact she's a siren? Wow, everything needs to be spelled out for me, huh.

That aside, the toxic doomed yaoi was, in fact, so extremely good I could almost forgive this book's crimes. Almost.
