LOVED THIS BOOK!!!
Leo Waterman is a great character and his supporting characters are a hoot!!
I highly recommend this book to those who like a little humor laced into a good whodunit.

Promising start to a series.

This was a good story. I enjoyed it but am glad I didn't pay much for this series. It is light-hearted compared to some of my other crime novels. Folks still die, but a fair amount of humor.

I read this book when it was nominated for a mystery award back in 1995. Very old school (e.g., early Connelly, Coben, Lehane) but enjoyed the setting and revisiting what was state of the art.

Nice first installment in the Leo Waterman mystery series. Nothing to write home about, but entertaining nonetheless.

GM Ford had me chuckling on more than one occasion. A delightful little series opener.

"Hastily harvested hearsay? Spare me."

"I just couldn't get on a roll this morning." A gleam appeared in his eye. I knew what was coming. "I was up all night worrying about this case you won't handle for me."

Average. Overly complicated with characters, and just too far-fetched.
