Received an ARC from Netgalley.

I expected more from this. The title and the blurb sounded awesome and I was looking forward to this.

Sadly, it just wasn't for me it seems. I liked our main girl at the beginning, but I soon found her to be pathetic when she started to do everything she could to mingle with the female zombies.

Also found it a bit strange the zombies had a preference, though it was also kind of nice to see that. They are still bloodthirsty but only towards males. What was even stranger was that they apparently could call our main girl names. Like nerd and such. Never heard of a zombie doing that.

One last thing I didn't like was how the artstyle just got thrown out of the window for the action scenes. I really found those to be quite ugly. Our main girl looked even more like a man than before and it seems like they didn't feel the need to care for consistency.

The ending was gruesome and I feel like our main girl just snapped (which is to be expected in a world like that).

I Survived The Zombie Apocalypse and All I Got Was This Podcast is about a young zombie apocalypse survivor named Mara Mitchell. She has a podcast about gardening, and she lives alone in a compound, fenced off from the world around her. When the compound is breached one day, she decides to make a bold move.

She decides to try to befriend the zombies. She bakes them cookies. She tries to help them. But they will have nothing to do with her. They mock her and call her names. They play pranks on her. One day, she decides she's had enough and just wants to kill the zombies.

And that's about it. The art is not terrible, but the story is really lacking. It's not funny. It's not suspenseful. It's fortunately not very long, but I still can't recommend it.
