This was my first book/audiobook by Catherine Cowles. I couldn’t stop listening! Addie and Beckett each have their own share of tragedies but when they are brought together the heat and attraction is undeniable! If you like a strong heroine who is making a new start and a swoon-worthy hero coming home and back to his, this is the book for you! Sebastian York and Ava Erickson brought the heat and the suspense to life!

Such an intense story with a strong FMC!

This book is truly amazing! Addie's strength is awe-inspiring. Despite enduring unimaginable cruelty and hate for most of her life, she remains kind and resilient. Her backstory is heart-wrenching, revealing the depths of her character.
Enter Beckett, the perfect match for her. He respects her need for space yet gently nudges her out of her comfort zone. Watching their relationship blossom was incredibly heartwarming!

₊ ⊹”everything around you is gray, and yet you’re cast in every color i could ever imagine.”₊ ⊹

this was too sweet! the bond addie and beckett had was just so pure, i loved it so much! they were able to lean on each other and inspire the other to keep growing and ugh, i think i got a toothache tbh<3

i do feel like the plot was very similarish to the first two, i could see all of the twists and progression coming from a mile away, tbh. it was still entertaining, but it didn’t feel like anything new. i also am a little irked with the intimacy in this book (and the last one). i hate how the first kiss automatically leads to them having sex after it. it takes away from the magic that is a first kiss, in my opinion lol. i wish we could see a little more progression in their physical relationship, especially since addie has never dated or anything like that all. that would’ve been a really interesting layer to the story, i think.

besides that, though, this was a really sweet romance and i really enjoy these characters. i’m really interested in learning more about laiken, and i especially cannot wait for shiloh’s book at the end! <3

Addie and Beckett's story is easily my favourite of the series so far. And the 14 highlights speak for themselves in that manner- the highest number of highlights in a book to date.

I was hoping for them to get together around the middle of book Falling Embers. Something in me thought they would be a perfect match and I wasn't wrong. Both Addie and Beckett have seen and felt things that cannot be erased from their memories. But what makes them meant to be together is how they don't want each other to change- they see the scars, accept them, and grow from them. They know they can't change the past, and neither of them want the other to be different or change who they are. It was truly so beautiful to watch their story unfold in front of me and I felt their love with each passing word. I'm so sad to see their story come to a close and I know I'll be revisiting it often.

Such a good book. I love this series. So much trauma and strength. They were definitely made for each other. I may have cried towards the end
