Didn’t enjoy this one as much as The Perfect Nurse. It was kind of spinning its wheels for most of the book. And the twist/ending wasn’t as satisfying but I’m still invested to see where Darcy and Pippa’s messy decisions lead them next.
I was invested more in Pippa’s storyline this time around. It had a good mystery and suspense. I knew how Darcy’s storyline was going to end as soon as she was introduced back into the plot.
The amnesia plot device is inconsistent and it only annoyed me this time around because there was nothing else that interesting going on with Darcy.
I was kind of side eyeing Darcy in the previous book. Definitely a hard side eye after this one.

This is the first book I have read by Daniel Hurst and I loved it. I am now going to have to read the perfect nurse and then reread this. It's gripping and impossible to put down. The ending leaves you hanging so can't wait for the next book.
Thank you Daniel Hurst, Bookouture and Netgalley for letting me read this ARC.

This is Book 2 in The Perfect Nurse Series. I found this book to be even more action-packed than Book 1. It's a thrilling story that plunges the reader into the chaotic and morally ambiguous world of a woman torn between her professional duty and the instinct to protect her family at all costs. The novel masterfully explores themes of guilt, deception, and survival.
We are once again immersed in the lives of Darcy and Pippa. Darcy is now in Florida, still dealing with amnesia, while Pippa remains at home, grappling with the aftermath of their shared past. (I don't want to give anything away).
This book had me on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating what would happen next. I thoroughly enjoyed everything it had to offer.
Much like The Doctor's Wife series, I was addicted to this series and am hoping for a Book 3. I need a Book 3!

Thank you to NetGalley, Daniel Hurst and Bookoture for the ARC. I’ve read many books from this author including the 1st book in this series. I felt like it continued on perfectly from the first book. The characters remained the same and were developed further. I found it very slow at the beginning but picked up towards the middle. The ending fell a bit short for me and I found there was a few plot holes that needed to be tied together. I think there’s potential for more in this series. I’m giving it three stars because as usual, I find that this author has too many great ideas and doesn’t completely follow through on them. This author has incredible potential and I’m looking forward to reading more.
Daniel Hurst has proven to be one of my favorite authors. I love how consistent and true to his style he is. Like the first book in this series, this one was packed full of drama and unexpected twists and turns. This story is told from dual POVs narrated by Darcy and her sister Pippa. This is book 2 in a series. While it can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the 1st book for context.
This book was brilliantly written. Hurst has a skill when it comes to putting a story together that is irresistible. In usual Hurst fashion, every chapter ended on a cliffhanger, so it was impossible to put this one down. I loved this book just as much as the 1st one in the series. I can’t wait for book 3!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC!

I thought the first book was good but this one was even better!! I can’t believe how many twists are going on. So many secrets and lies in a family full of love.
I didn’t like how it ended but only because I need MORE asap 🤣
