This was a five star for me until that last reveal. I knew it was coming and I was really hoping to be wrong, that maybe it would be something else. The last 20% ruined the entire book for me.

Carly Fortune read “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and fixed everything that sucked. And it only took one book instead of three.
Solid writing, wonderful book boyfriend, and delightfully spicy.

This book took me a while to read since I was so busy, but I loved it! It’s the perfect summer read, and the plot kept me drawn in the entire time. Even though the premise was a bit basic, I still loved it. Persephone encompassed a lot of traits I could to relate to in real life, so I found it easy to connect with her as a main character. I also loved the other characters as well, since they each had unique quirks that made them special. This book also switches between the past and present in each chapter, which made it fun to piece the story together. Overall a great read!

A mature colleen hoover vibe. I absolutely loved being transported to the feeling of having your first crushes as a teenager and watching two people fall kn love in a beautiful nostalgic way.
