I have really mixed feelings about this one. This felt like it was going to be a 4 star read for me... and then the Plot Twist happened which ruined the entireeee book for me.
I really liked the beginning but it kept getting messier and messier. After the reveal I Iost all my interest in this book and just finished it for the heck of it.

I mean how does it make sense? The entire book was all about showing how Percy and Sam were friends for years and slowly fell in love over the years and then built their relationship. So a few weeks of him being a bit short with you and suggesting a break so he could take it slow with his studies and everything and you jump the first guy you find??? His brother????

It could have been anyyythingg but cheating... and anything but cheating on your boyfriend with his BROTHER. I feel like Charlie was included as much as he was only for this purpose.. to sort of justify the cheating.
I mean why would you keep checking your brother's best friend out when you know he's in love with her? And make a move on her when you know they are dating and going through a rough time already???? I mean it wasn't even really clear that Sam actually had ended things or taken a break. And you can't even say that Oh they were drunk.. Even if Percy wasn't thinking clearly which she should have been, Charlie should have known better being 20 at the time. He didn't for 1 second think or say that any of it was wrong or that maybe they shouldn't do it. And to think he was her first???????

It felt like the whole book sort of kept normalizing cheating. Even when Percy was dating Mason she clearly had no feelings for him but was in love with Sam. You can't even fault Mason for it cuz he wasn't even being an asshole.

I really don't think that reveal at the end was worth the build up. Like they kept dragging it and pushing till the end and then it was.. "oh I cheated" and that made me despise it.

Sam deserved so much better. Towards the end, Sam even apologizes and justifies her cheating? What????

And they stayed away for 12 yearsss and then it was all resolved in a span of 2 and a half days????

The ending felt sooo rushed.. like there wasn't much talking and clarifying and seeing them work things through... it was all like yeah I fucked up.. yeah I also fucked up... I forgive you.. okay let's get back together...

The story from the past kept me going more than the present. The present story made no sense, there was no big fight/ getting used to each other again AFTER 10 YEARS of not seeing each other after a mysterious fight.

Also, the MC was very annoying and selfish, you couldn't root for her.
ALSO i wish she would've stayed with Charlie, it was better match and Sam was boring and mean to her
