oml this book was so slow to read. The author makes WAY TOO MUCH examples, and each of them is long. Sometimes you don’t actually know what it is even talking about unless you go to each chapter’s summary.
Tbh the book has some good principles (even if most of them are literally “be kind” etc.) and for people that say “its manipulative” the book is literally called “how to influence people” so idk
-Would i recommend this book? Is it worth reading?
No. If you are really curious about it i’d recommend to watch a summary video on youtube or just read the key points online. To read this whole book was honestly a waste of time.

Read this in high school, I think it worsened my people pleasing? But maybe some tips on how to start conversations
Chapter format got very repetitive. This is really a compilation of a bunch of short stories, and while that has value it is not the read I was looking for
This was one of the first 'self-improvement' books I've read. Although it might feel a bit outdated, it still is a useful read. Some of the principles may seem obvious- well yes. It is a common sense. However, it isn't common practice!
Great applicable advice though heavy laden with anecdotal stories that could have cut the book in half and there wasn’t much value added.
Full disclosure - I read 50% and, let's just say...I got the gist.
