Brutal, elegant, monstrous. Paced well, shocking til the end, and has really fed my growing fascination with horror lit. There’s no room for comfort in the world Bazterrica writes. I want to read,,, more???

A brief yet sufficient look into an utterly revolting, hopefully highly unlikely, future completely devoid of any contemporary definition of human innocence. Would highly recommend, but be ready to feel despair, what a trip!!

the concept is wonderful, but i honestly didn't like the execution. the prose is a bit too flat for me, and none of the characters are particularly compelling or interesting. i really enjoyed the slaughter scenes, though. the clinical tone works super well and the descriptions are so detailed—i wish there was more of that.

CRAZY CONCEPT OML!!! I absolutely LOVE the idea of this and it has solidified my decision to be vegetarian. HOWEVER- because it’s a translation the literary aspects aren’t the greatest, but the concept and plot is so good it makes up for it

Wow this book is just creepy with a bit of gore thrown in too. The concept of this book that something could happen like this if we weren’t able to eat animals anymore is quite disturbing but also made me think if it could be true.
I listened to the audio version of this and then the last 25% I joined in with reading the physical copy to. I did prefer the audio version as I think it added more to it.
The ending definitely had me like

It's great ngl, but ABSOLUTELY not my stuff
