I think I need a break from the cheesiness of this series, though great for kids. And wow, Ned's a quarterback, punter and a kicker. SMH. Books written so long ago are weird.

Stina's Challenge included reading a book I hadn't read since high school. This month's reading and release theme was "mail". And I am behind on my yearly goal. All of that added up to a quick read of a book I know I haven't read since high school featuring my old chum Nancy Drew. Nancy is getting a letter from London, but she doesn't know anyone there. Before the letter can be delivered, it is stolen from the mail carrier. This gives Nancy two mysteries to solve -- who was the letter from and what was it about, and who stole the mail? Naturally, the cases become intertwined, but with the help of Bess and George, Mr. Drew and faithful housekeeper Hannah Gruen, as well as the girls' beaus, Ned and Dave and Burt, all turns out for the best for all parties, including another Nancy Drew and the mail carrier Ira Nixon. It was nice to read such an uncomplicated book for a change after a lot of heavy reading of late.

I really enjoyed the description of the football game! The Shakespeare clue was also a lot of fun.
