I didn’t like this. I know I am in the minorty but I found the unravelling of the story annoying and the slowness of the pace grating. I also found the way the author has one character tell another the meaning of the story patronising, and if that isn’t bad enough, she then tells us through another character what the real meaning is, in case we missed it the first time. If it was a ground breaking, new message maybe – just maybe - that would be OK, but the message here is not to waste time on things that don’t matter and to invest your time in the people you love, with a bit of it’s never too late to change for good measure.
That the story is farfetched, I can go with, but it is predictable too. I also found it annoying the way the author tries to pull the reader's heart strings by going for an unhappy, “happy” ending. I found it heavy handed and moralistic.
I can see why it appeals to some but it was not for me.

This is my 1st read of Cecelia Ahern and I absolutely loved this book. I read this whole book in one day as I couldn’t put it down at all as it was so gripping. I got this last year but never got around to reading it so am so happy I have now read it I will definitely re read it again. The only down side for me was I hated the character Gabe he just didn’t do it for me sadly. I like how the story was told and the lessons that people can learn from this story were written really well. I really liked the main Character Lou xxx

Lijepa knjiga za odmor. Poželio sam da je sada Božić. Možda sam očekivao nešto više i nešto drugačije.
Such a great book to read right before Christmas! The classic "Christmas angle visits" story. Another modern girl's fairy tale that Ahern is so good at writing. I do wish the Gabe (angel) character was a bit more developed.
3.5*
What a peculiar story, not what I expect from this author. Especially the fragments of "the turkey boy" distracted me from the real plot. It wasn't as Christmassy as I expected. But the moral of this story does fit.
I don't really know what else I can tell without spoiling things. But I can tell that Lou wasn't the most lovable person, he became, in his own words, quiet Ruthless over time, putting his work and achievements over his family every single time it really mattered. Luckily he met Gabe/Gabriel who definitely came into Lou's life for a reason...

Meh, this was my least favorite Sheen book I have read.
I requested this book from the library’s ebook selection to read for the holidays but it just was released to my loans this month. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was slow to start but it started to pick up and I couldn’t put it down. Time definitely shouldn’t be taking for granted. There’s a great message to be learned from this book.
Ahern is one of those mixed authors; you will love some novels, others you will have trouble even "liking".
Unfortunately this one is the latter. I actually was a bit excited and thought that it was going to be a good one, but neither the character's or how the story was written caught my attention. I had some trouble with being focused, so I don't even remember the whole novel.
Some parts was good though, and that's why I gave it two stars instead of one.
