Very cute story. I liked the characters a lot. I still had a lot of questions at the end that didn't get answered, but it was a cute, quick read.
This book overall is a fable of not taking time for granted, as is quite easy to do. The book tells the story of Lou, a busy businessman who spends so much time on trying to get a promotion, that he forgets what's really important in life. Enter Gabe, who shows Lou what's really important in life.
You know it is a fabulous and 5 star read when you read throughout the night without even realising that you are awake. When you don't even realise that the sun is up and about and you are still in that book which you thought of reading for 2 hours.

This is a book that left me filled with emotions - happy and sad both. After a very long time, I get to read a book that was just heartwarming. The Christmas season and chilly atmosphere, ahhh, I was in heaven.... And suddenly it ended.
I was more than just sad when this book ended, I wanted more and more and more. One of my best Cecelia Ahern story!

this is the second book I've read by Cecelia ahern and I seriously love her! when I started this book I was a little confused at first but I was intrigued and I got sucked right in! this book gave me a serious hangover that I wasn't expecting!! what I really love about Cecelia's books are that they have the classic chick lit covers but the storylines are much much deeper than that of a classic chick lit book, and this one was no different. I highly recommend this read!
Picked up from the school book box for a bit of seasonal distraction and read in a single sitting. However that is an indication of how easy it is to read rather than its literary merit (remember, this is someone who can eat a packet of Jaffa Cakes at one go - same thing). I'm afraid I fund it both contrived and predictable: look at the names in the summary for a start! I couldn't bring myself to like Lou, or his wife, or even the police and the turkey-throwing boy to whom the story is told (although he had the most credible actions and motivation). Sorry.
It was beautiful story and I wont ever sick of reading it multiples of time!

Having just seen parts of her father's biography on RTE (Ireland's National TV station) and it noting that he was quite the absent father, I have to wonder how much of this is wishful thinking on the part of Cecelia Ahern.
It's a story about a boy who throws a semi-frozen turkey through a window who gets told a story about another man. A workaholic who learns lessons about the important things in life and who realises that life is now not tomorrow.
I can see this one splitting it's audience. It's unsubtle in it's message and pretty obvious in it's heart-string tugging. A little too obvious for my tastes, I'm sure other people's mileage may vary.
The packagaing is cute, the ribbon isn't a permanent part of the cover though and as it's usually shrink wrapped the lack of cover details makes it hard to decide what it's all about.

This was a very Christmasy read, however while I understand the value of the story, I am not sure whether I'm completely satisfied with it.
