I think I'm a bit older (20 yrs post-high school) than the intended audience of this book, but because of that, I think I enjoyed the book more than younger readers. I came at it from an "also-lived-this" perspective, so a lot of the stories told as cautionary tales for young adults struck me more as the kind of things middle-aged girl friends share while reminiscing over a bottle of wine. In that way, this book was a comfort. Hearing someone else speak openly about the wardrobe malfunctions, social faux pas, and other young-adult slip-ups I experienced made me feel a bit better about my own past, or at least helped me laugh about it for once, rather than cringe.

Not as enjoyable as the previous book, but easy listening (including the Obama stories)

A fun book when it didn’t veer towards unnecessary topics.

Glib and airy; I guess some would argue accessible. The tone of a blogger. Some gems of actual advice, but much of it was IBS stories. I can't help but feel I might have liked this more if I had read her first book.

This was a delightful and humorous audiobook. I enjoy the author's humorous take on campaigning and how she doesn't hold back. It's refreshingly human.

Quarantine Book #16, if you can believe it. Quick read, but fun. I didn't take away as much as her first book, though.

A collection of essays (mostly humorous). Less political then I'd expected for a former White House staffer Obama, but still light and engaging. I want to be Alyssa's friend.

I honestly wish I could have Alyssa narrate my life, and listening to this audio book gave me a little taste of what that would be like. An incredible book filled with laughter, frank discussions about the tough things, and a little kick in the ass to make me want get going.
