This is the first book of The Adventures of Tintin that I've read. And I should say this, it was an interesting read.
I first discovered Tintin from my dad, who has said to have loved Herge's books because it was from his childhood as well. I was told to read it when I was still in elementary, because at that time, I was still captivated on buying and reading Disney comic books, so he told me that if I love mystery and comics like these, I should try reading Tintin. And I only read some of it for fun and somehow it was not that good, honestly, back then.
Now, I started reading it again because of the movie (it was an amazing movie, and the animation was gold! Really realistic and fun to watch, highly would recommend!) And suprisingly, I like it more now! It was funny, and I am astonished by Tintin's character overall that can stay calm and collected in any situations given. In this book, not much was going on, and somehow considering Tintin's a really popular journalist, EVERYBODY was going after him in fear of getting caught doing something. He was captured, escaped, then almost killed, witted his way out, captured again, and ended up catching multiple badguys at once! This book also includes Tintin amd Snowy's adventure with the Indian tribe, and they were framed(?) by the badguys and the Indians ended up almost killing them both. But in the end, Tintin just has a plan up his sleeve and managed to escape.
I thought this book was somewhat good, but it was sort of a dissapointment because therr was not much mysyery going on, only speed chase after another. But I am thrilled to start this series again and hope that I'll enjoy the others the same, or even more!
